Lessebo Paper is proud to announce that the company has been awarded the prestigious Swedish Design Award 2025 for its launch of Lessebo Texture – The Paper Player, created in collaboration with F&B Happy.

The Paper Player is a unique installation designed to explore a simple yet powerful question: We know how paper feels, smells, and looks – but what does it sound like? Together with Swedish sound artist Rördrom, Lessebo Paper set out to translate the tactile qualities of paper into sound. By converting the subtle variations in paper texture into sound waves, The Paper Player creates a sensory experience that celebrates the craftsmanship and character of Lessebo Paper’s new textured range.

The installation was presented as part of the launch of Lessebo Texture, a collection that captures the artistry of tactile expression through carefully designed paper surfaces. The collection reflects Lessebo Paper’s long tradition of combining innovation, design, and sustainability. Producing high-quality paper with one of the world’s lowest CO₂ emissions.

“Winning the Swedish Design Award is a true honour. With The Paper Player, we wanted to invite people to experience paper in a completely new way. Not just through touch and sight, but through sound,” says Ebba Ingvarsson, Communications Manager at Lessebo Paper. “It is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship and the beauty of sustainable design.”

The project was realised in collaboration with F&B Happy, who brought the concept to life with their creative excellence and understanding of sensory storytelling.
