Our Sustainability Journey
For over 300 years, we’ve crafted paper in harmony with nature. Guided by responsibility and rooted in tradition, we continue to grow with the future in mind.

Lessebo Paper strives to limit its impacts on climate change and to carry out all its business activities in a sustainable manner. With over 300 years of experience in the paper industry, we recognise the importance of producing sustainable, high-quality paper.
Today, our emissions are just 11 kg of CO₂ per tonne of paper – one of the lowest in the industry. In comparison, the average paper producer emits up to 56 times more.
We believe that the industry has a key role to play in finding sustainable solutions to today’s climate challenges. In order to create a bright future for the generations to come, a shift to a sustainable society is vital.
Lessebo Paper is proud to lead the way. However, we are not satisfied with having the lowest CO₂ emissions – we have higher ambitions.

Our CO₂ emissions
Like the tree rings we take inspiration from, our story is shaped year by year
– a reflection of care, resilience, and continuity.

Our first ring was formed in 1693.
Rooted in the forests of southern Sweden, we’ve spent centuries growing slowly and responsibly – using only local wood from responsibly managed forests and 100% renewable energy in our production.
Our papers are crafted to be naturally strong, naturally white, and deeply sustainable. Whether you choose uncoated design paper, deep-dyed shades, or high-bulk book paper – you choose a material shaped by care, not compromise.
Let’s keep growing – together.
Every creation begins with a core. Ours is paper.
Honest. Humble. Human. From the heart of the forest. Crafted to inspire – from crisp whites to vibrant colours, from tactile design sheets to trusted book papers.
Our full range is made to support the world’s creators while staying true to our environmental values.
We celebrate the role of sustainable materials in meaningful creation. Because what we make matters – and so does how we make it.
The Climate Compass
A guide to sustainability – and our journey forward
At Lessebo Paper, we believe that real change begins with knowledge and action. That’s why we’ve created The Climate Compass – a publication that shares our ambitions, insights, and concrete steps toward a more sustainable paper industry.
With a carbon footprint of only 11 kg CO₂ per tonne of paper – we’re not just reducing impact; we’re setting a new standard. In The Climate Compass, you’ll discover how we work with renewable energy, responsible forestry, and biodiversity to shape a future in harmony with nature.
We continuously improve our resource management and reduce greenhouse gas emissions on behalf of future generations.
Lessebo Paper has increased the loading efficiency of outgoing transport, which has resulted in reduced CO2 emissions.
The pallets we use come from a company 10 minutes’ drive from Lessebo, resulting in reduced emissions from transport and supporting local suppliers of climate friendly goods.
At least two trees are planted for every tree felled. In less than 100 years, Sweden´s forest assets have doubled.
